Hello!

I am new to the forum here but not new to the hobby. A friend of mine told me I should join this forum as well as the one I am normally on.

So I am currently on my second tank. I first started with a 55G tank back in 2002 which was mostly a FOWLR because I didn't know anything and could only keep GSP and bubble algae alive. I had a HOB everything on this tank and high nitrates and phosphates to go along with the huge salinity swings from not having an ATO. I was an awful fishkeeper. I kept this tank for about 5 years while I lived in Oklahoma and then moved to Missouri where the closest LFS was over 100 miles away and hadn't found the magic of forums, marinedepot and amazon.com. So shortly after moving to Missouri my fish died due to complications of moving 400 miles in December, so i took a hiatus for about 5 years.

Now living in Ohio my current tank has been up for about 18 months. It is also a 55g until money comes in to get a bigger tank. I have a 35g remote sump located about 50 feet away in a downstairs room, probably the most unique thing about my system.

As far as livestock I have 2 Mocha Clowns, recently deceased Lawnmower blenny, 1 skunk cleaner shrimp, 1 blood red shrimp, 1 fighting conch, and miscellaneous CUC snails. As far as coral goes I am very into Zoas and SPS, mostly Acro and Monti, but have a few LPS thrown in until I need the room for more SPS.

Other than the aquarium, I have a 2 year old that I spend most of my time with and I wouldn't have it any other way. He has a stool which sits in front of the aquarium he likes to stand on and watch the fish so he is already becoming a little reefer himself.

Not much else about me but if you have questions feel free to ask. And if this forum is anything like the other forum, I don't have any pictures at this time because my computer has just crashed which had all my pictures on it. Hopefully soon that will be remedied and I can get a photo or two up.

Welcome to R2R hopefully you enjoy it here. It's awesome you're bonding with your son with reefing. It's a beautiful hobby and our family bonds around it as well.

Welcome to R2R!
All my kids love my tank and have names for all the fish and coral.
Can't wait to see some pictures :-)
My son has named all the fish as well, Coral and Marlin are the clowns, the LMB's name was Ug, because he was ugly, skunk shrimp is Jacque, and the blood red shrimp is Bloody.

Welcome home, you will love it here!

Welcome! Nice to see another Ohio reef lover. I am over in Cincinnati. Great rock! Love mochas!

Really like the avatar by the way. Ron is such a cool dude.
