New to the forum

Hey guys new to this forum and also new to the saltwater and reef hobby. Trying to pick up pointers and helpful advice on the hobby. I have a 29 gal biocube that I have set up right about a minth old or so doing pretty good so far. I have 20 lbs of live sand well crushed coral and have about 30 lbs of live rock. Also have a candy cane coral and a mushroom that are doing really good. The candy cane seems to be having a little bit of trouble and not opening up all that much but the mushroom grows like crazy. As for fish I have a pair of clowns and a valentini puffer and a hermit crab so far so good. Built my own media rack and also put a hydo 250 gph powerhead in just today. Cant wait to get into this hobby and learn more.

can anyone tell me if my candy cane coral looks ok or if it liiks to be dying hasnt really grew much every once in a while I will see the tenticals but my mushroom is geowing and spilting and looking good but just not sure about this guy

*Welcome to Reef2Reef @Sheeler2013 !* From what I can see your coral looks okay.Look for it's feeding tentacles at night.Or first thing in the morning,before you turn the lights on.You could try sparingly spot feeding,fine frozen foods at this time.Be certain to do water testing.These corals really like the calcium to remain stable.

finally got my in tank today and set it all up very happy with how well it looks and fits in the tank. can't wait to see how well it works. dealing with some green hair algae right now getting ready to do a water change and see if that helps put two turbo snails and 10 hermits and a green emerald and a banded serpent star for the clean up crew.
