Hi Everyone,

To start... My name is Mark! I live in Kemptville ON (just outside of Ottawa) Canada. I had been into salt water loving for quite a while, when I got to a point in my life where I could not afford or have time to maintain a nice tank (single guy living in a condo). I am now in the complete opposite position... I don't have a whole bunch of money or time, but I want to get back into the hobby for myself and my kids. I am going to run a "simple" setup that will require minimal maintenance, and cost. I purchased a 60 gallon rimless cube... LED fixture... along with a sump that included a Tunze skimmer. I also have my sand and salt ready to go... I am in the process of building my stand and also researching what ro/di unit I should be getting ( I'm on well water).

I plan on adding two small rock formations, and having lots of room for fish to swim and be viewed. I will soon be drilling the tank to run an overflow box... I only want to start considering adding rock & water once I have everything planned out. I don't want to jump into this unprepared. The other thing that's holding me up, is money to finish the floors in our basement since that's where the tank is going.

I will add some current pictures shortly and will keep adding as my build continues. I look forward to chatting with everyone :)

A small but exciting update... I have always loved the idea of having a sump in a separate area from the display tank to make it easy to store everything and maintain (water changes etc). Well it's finally going to happen. I decided on setting up the tank in an area where I will be able to run my plumbing through the wall and into an area with a floor drain and open space to have my sump. EXCITED! Had to share :)

Welcome home, albeit belated! Thanks for the update! Post pics of the sump install!

More updates... Have the tank in place... Going to be finishing the stand shortly and ordered my overflow. You can see where the sump will be. I can taste the salt!!!! :)
