Chaeto is a macro algae, it helps bring down excess nutrients of nitrates and phosphates. It will continually grow under the right lights and having sufficient food source (no3 and po4). So you will have to trim it at tones, you can trim, sell or give it away..

ok ok...ya i wasnt to sure as i looked at it and saw things crawling in the chaeto.. and im like i dont want to hurt these living things in the sump...how will i know when to trim it?

It wo grow to thick....also there usually ate things in Chaeto that benefit....such as pods.
