New to the hobby and R2R.

Hello everyone! I have been searching the internet for information on saltwater aquariums and came upon R2R. I'm very new to the hobby and just did the initial setup on my tank Feb. 12, 2014. I have a 29 gallon tank for the time being until I become more acquainted with the hobby. I believe in time I will end up having a million questions and any help/advice at the point would be tremendously grateful.

Since my tank will be set up for week as of tomorrow when should you start testing the chemicals? Also, could some recommend the testing kit(s) I need and what exactly to test for? Thanks!
