New to the hobby. Need help identifying hitchhiker.

Is this a sponge? Not sure what to make of it. Is it okay to leave it be, or should I kill it with fire and then skip town? Please advise.

Looks like a ball anemone. Leave it or toss it

Agree with above. We had a few in our tanks and we would leave them alone unless they were near a coral.

Thank you! Already addicted/obsessed with the hobby. Though, I'm already about $1800 in and I still dont have any fish/crabs/coral/anemones/etc. in this dang tank yet, lol. Running a fishless cycle and getting everything started currently. Cant wait to start adding lifeforms!

I agree. I have them in my tank. They dont bother anything and have not reached plague proportions or become invasive in the 10 years i have had the rock. Some of them have a couple colors like orange and red which is kind of cool. I would keep it.
