Hey im shaggy and new to this fun hobby (and expensive lol). Had my system for about 4 months now. here are a few pics

My setup:

CAD MiniII 34G tank with stand, Skimmer & Bio reactor
MP10 pump
Hydra 26 light w/stand & Rail attached to the tank.

the first pic is the current setup in my tank.

So i have a few questions...

1. Is there another option for a lid? the glass one just bakes my fish so i have an open top. I swear i seen someone with a lid on this with a grate like top so the fish dont jump out (lost one this way already)

2. for my bio pellets in my reactor some of the pellets are getting clumped together at the top. its on full power to cycle it is this normal?

aloha

Tank looks great...) There are some new lids with a screen, but they are not pretty... might take away from the tank. just get fish that don't jump....).

bulk reef supply they sell the diy screen. And on ebay they sell the clips that make the screen sit level with the top of the glass. I lost my goby the first day i got him. It on the tank in this picture you can hardly notice. I think around $40 all together. Deleted the pics of the screen on top up close. Looks beter with out it but it sure beats finding dried up fish on your floor.

I could be wrong, but I would be weary of the fish selection. Tangs... angels... those fish will outgrow that little 34g tank. Not to discourage you or anything. They are beautiful fish and I wish I could have some, but I only have a 30g and it's just too small. The fish in there need may need a larger tank. Can someone with more experience pitch in?

also as for the yellow tang I had to give him away since he was fight with all my other fish and killed the smaller yellow i had before

Yeah I'd love to have a tang in mine too. I wonder how long it takes them to grow up? Are you planning to upgrade to a larger tank? Tangs are beautiful fish and it's hard to not have one when you've got a clown! :) (speaking of Dori and Nemo)
