Hello!

After owning a fresh water tank for many years, I have decided to convert one of my tanks into salt. I am fairly new to this and I am reading as much information as possible before the expenses start to pile up.

I am looking into creating an easy reef tank something is is forgivable for a beginner until my knowledge grows.

I am looking into adding a lot of color into that tank fish wise. This will be a family project.

I currently have a 150g 6ft tank dual drilled.

I can use all of the information that you guys can throw at me.

Thank you

Welcome to R2R!

For info on saltwater what I did was start reading old post lots of info here . And ask questions and remember the most important thing is to take it slow and make sure your tank does a full cycle in the beginning which could take 2 weeks too a month in some cases

Wow 150! For your first salt water reef awesome! Get a good salt water test kit test often. Research everything before putting it in your tank. Use only RODI water. Ask a lot of questions do a lot of reading. Order A Order a couple 45 lb boxes of live rock online fiji is nice you can find it online for around $80 to $90 a box. Good luck enjoy, looking forward to seeing pictures of your new build

Thanks a bunch guys! I will post pictures as soon as I get the tank moved and ready to start plumbing :) Does anybody know where I can get a good 55+ gallon sump? my current sump is a 30g and I doubt that I will have enough room for anything in it. Thanks a bunch.
