Hello, my name is eskemo around 2009 I started fish keeping just simple fishes such as guppies. Now I have 4 fresh water tanks and a reef 400 Marine tank.
The marine tank is coming up 3-4 weeks fresh.
I have been told by almost everyone that I am doing it wrong. Yet I have a fish and a piece of golf coral in my tank already.
I started this tank with already established bio balls and coral rubble in the sump I let the ammonia sky rocket The first week with dead prawns now it's all quite fine.. It's had its overgrowth of algae now it's all died off. I originally had very dense rock for the bed of my tank which today I removed and placed 1mm sand. I originally added around 10kg of dry rock and 1kg of live rock I went out and got around another 3kg today planning on adding another 3 every week or two for the next ,month just slowly to not over load anything.
My tank has 2 wave makers and a outlet doing a little bit of flow control.
My tanks salinity is in the 21-25 mark..
Here is my tank anyway. It's a slow work of art but one day it'll be great.
