You can get macroalgae from various sources including LFS's and fellow hobbyists.

The majority of macroalgae are more invasive than fresh water aquatic plants in my experience. Not only Caulerpa release their spores by sexual propagation but they can also run rampant all over the tank sending out runners and some broken pieces landing on rocks and taking roots. Golden dictyota is worse. Halimeda tends to stay put and grows more slowly requiring only a periodic pruning to keep them from shading corals.

I recommend that you keep the majority of your macroalgae in a refugium with the exception of smaller leaved variety of halimeda which can be kept in display tank easily. Putting the refugium under the light period reverse to the display tank will help stabilize the pH of your display tank, too.
