Hello R2R

First im excited to be a part of this hobby and this forum i enjoy reading all the discussions and all the interesting topics here

And i have some questions .
But first a brief history about me
I live in kuwait and i am new to the saltwater hobby.
So i have a almost 479 liter cylinder tank (126 us gallon) sump less tank
With 2 clownfish and 1 coral beauty
One mitra snail, one conch snail and one astrea snail with one live rock the bed is live sand and a one heater and one canister filter (1000 liter/h) capacity an internal filter (2000 liter/h im not using it at the moment)
I am feeding the tank one time a day frozen baby shrimps and they seems to like it (honestly sometimes i feed day on and day off) i know its not right.

I have submersible led lights.
Lots of information the tank is 4 months old.. And its sealed with a round metal cover that can be opened and closed

Everything seems to be fine and all my animals are live and well and swimming around abd eating pretty well specially tye clowns they really love the baby shrimps...

My question
Do i need to get a hang-on skimmer if yes which one... If no can it be maintained like this.!?

One night i was on the beach and i found a small snail (not sure of the species but its black) so i took couple and added them to the tank (might be a stupid idea i know) i haven't seen them a lot in the tank i forgot about them as i thought the mitra snail ate them (i read somewhere that they eat other smaller snails) not sure if that is true. Anyways couple days ago i started seeing small baby snails on my glass is that something to be worried about?! Should i remove them or leave them

What you guys suggest for what should i add next i was thinking 2 cardinals or green chromies any other Suggestions is welcome.

Finally all advices are appreciated ao i can maintain this tank for long time and enjoy this hobby what type of food and what equipment should i get (we don't have a good community in kuwait for saltwater).

Thank you ❤

1. Thansk for the pictures
2. No clue on the snail
3. Nice tank
4. Not sure you need a skimmer 'now'. with that bioload. Which brands are available in Kuwait?
5. Green chromis can be a problem - with various diseases - and fighting - adding more might be better - if they are well quarantined
6. IMHO - with that tank the main issue - is water flow from top to bottom. Or bottom to top. such that - with the relative small surface area - you have adequate oxygen.

Looking great! I would not recommend a hang on skimmer...

Also, if you plan to add corals, dont, I dont think the submersible led's will be able to grow any... You can always upgrade in the future, and then add corals though :)

If you dont already, get a test kit (salifert or red sea preferably), and a siphon to do water changes. Also, did you use RO/DI water? If not, get a RO/DI unit.

When it comes to fish recommendations, you have lots of options, since it will be a FOWLR tank. Check out Live Aquaria to see your options :)

Hey thank you for the reply and for your encouraging words brother.

I actually don't know what brands are here red sea is available
No clue of the snails either will do more research...

I was thinking about getting either a 4or so green chromies or 2 cardinals but I am open to new suggestions

I agree with you on the oxygen levels.... What iam doing is that i directed the output of my canister filter towards the surface of the water so the water flow is from bottom to top

Iam also thinking about a wave maker or a power head

Hi bro thank you so much for the reply

I'm not planning on adding any corals now i know that the led wont be able to sustain the coral growth.

I have a 5 stages filter with ro filters so i think its an ro/di system and yes i used to fill half of the tank but it was so slow to i made the rest with tap water... And added a water conditioner..

Nice is live aquaria have an international delivery system or what??, i like their collection...

And i loove the yellow tang picture... But unfortunately its a very expensive fish here. And i mean very expensive in the 400 usd price range
