Having trouble with certain corals, polyps not opening on my zoas, I have a 55 gallon tank with one hydra 26 HD lighting. I keep them on for 8:30 minutes daily and ramp them for additional 30 minutes. I checked my parameters today and I was at: Alk- 9.1 DKH., Cal- 425, PH, 8.12, Mag- 1400, Sal- 1.024, Temp- 77, nitrate- .20, nitrite- 0. I have re-dipped them on occasion, but they look like they are shrinking ..... any suggestions?

2nd, Zoas, shrooms and LPS like a bit dirtier water. Nitrates in the 20's or above with phosphates in the .05 range would make them happier.
Sounds like your tank is a little to sterile

What is age of tank, type of water used ( tap, RO or ?? ) and what test kits are you using?

My tank is over 10 years old, I just started working with corals (live rock) .... I only use RO water .... and I use Red Sea for Alk, Mag, and Cal. I use Hanna checkers for PH and Salinity ..

Got some pic as they always help.

I would increase water flow slightly and add Iron and iodine such as lugols to water. 1.025 may help on salinity also.
