New to the saltwater world!

Hi all! Just jumped into the venture of owning my own saltwater tank! I have had many successful freshwater tanks in the past and thought it was about time I get into the reefing community! I'd like to get some input on future decisions for my tank to avoid costly mistakes down the line! Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated, any beginner mistakes, important pieces of advise or just a success/failure story about your tank! Thank to everyone who gives me the time!

My best piece of advice is take it slow, do alot of research. Alot of times people want stuff to happen now, but you know what happens NOW in this hobby? Bad stuff. Be patient and good things will happen

What lighting is that you have over your saltwater tank?
Also I really like your cichlid tank

Thanks for the info! As far as the lighting goes, it is an innovative marine skyye light. I wasn't pleased with the overall coloration upon purchase so I added some 3led actinic lights to the underside (4 of them). It definitely helped and gave me a bit more of that shimmer across the surface of the tank.

Welcome to the forum! My advice is to read, read, and read some more! When you are thinking about making a change or addition to the system read and note all the reasons people say it's OK or not OK. There are a lot of different ways to find success in this hobby, and there is often not a right or wrong answer depending on a specific situation. That is what makes the hobby fun for me!
