Welcome to R2R. Great looking setup, so far.

I just made a video about how this is the king of all hobbies. I think I made some solid points, being someone who has more than one hobby. Check it out if you are looking for some of that good old fashioned confirmation bias. LOL!

Here is to the beginning of a lifelong passion. Cheers!

Hello, everyone!

After years of research, I’ve finally taken the plunge into the Saltwater Aquarium world. My first tank is the Red Sea Max E170! I’m in the cycling phase now with a cleaning crew and hoping to add one fish here shortly if everything checks out.

Thanks for all the information everyone shares on this forum and can’t wait for my ocean cut out to begin evolving!

Cheers!

Thanks for photo - nice aquascape - that is going to be gorgeous!

This is a great reference book type article I still refer:

Welcome to the club! I love my Red Sea peninsula and I think you'll love your setup too!
Hey friend!

My Red Sea came with a media rack and a sponge filter but my LFS told me not to use the sponge filter and to just use the skimmer. I also have marine pure biofilter spheres in the return pump area.

Do you have an opinion on whether I should use the sponge filter or not?

Thanks!
