Hi,

Just wanted to say hello. I am new to aquariums just started a couple of months ago and I have this setup currently:

Nuvo 40
Hydor nano skimmer
Jebao pp4
ATO
2 caddy system with 1 being mechanical and one is a cheato reactor
Halo deluxe MX80(love this light)
Custom made stealth stand (by me)

40 pounds of live rock and switching to Fiji pink sand.
3 green chromis
1 hammerhead coral
1 orange zoa

Can't wait to see what the next few months brings.

Thanks everyone I call it my Flintstones tank. I am still researching the fish that are going in here. It's small so it can't support a large school, and I don't want clowns. Anyone have a suggestion with fish that do well singularity or in pairs? I have a goby and flame angel on my want list.

Not too dissimilar from my system. I had that same light and really liked it, but replaced it with a halide recently.

Fang toothed blenny (Smith's, forktail, canary...) quite the characters.
One of the small wrasses would work well, I've got a yellow corris wrasse. Adds tons of activity.
Some of the firefish are cool looking... just not my thing.
A smaller basslet of some sort, chalk bass or black cap. I had a black cap at one point. Beautiful, colorful, but it was constantly hiding.
There's dozens of damsels that you could have. I don't like 'em, but lots of folks do.
Cardinalfish can be kinda neat.

Yellow assessor basslet is a neat little fish. Swims sideways and upside down and no its not sick lol! Welcome!

Growth rates for light demanding corals was slow, and shadowing was high. Even among light loving corals, I didn't get any fading, and colors were terrific, but since I like to grow out small frags, the slow growth rate was enough to make me look at changing things up. Now... was the low growth rate due to the light, or some other issue? I don't know. Ask me again in a year

The 250w 14,000k DE halide pendant I replaced it with is not nearly as convenient. It's heavy, doesn't have any timing or dimming features, forces me to keep a close eye on temperature swings, and I'm going to have to replace the bulb yearly. But. I _KNOW_ it will grow anything I might want to put under it.

I am trying to grow two frags and the guys at aquatic life told me during the moonlight phase it helps them grow. I turned the dial towards the 420nm spectrum I will repost in a couple of weeks with the status. I also am mixing my own water now with red Sea coral pro and target feeding for both of them not much maybe 3 drops for the zoa and the hammerhead. I don't know how it will work with the sps but that frag is coming in next 2 weeks.
