Hello, we have a 55 gallon tank and we want to do a reef tank. We have put in the live rock and live same and letting it cycle, it has been 2 weeks and we have in 2 damsels to help. We are still while away form getting any corals, but had some questions

I was looking at this lighting

Really dont know anything about if this is good enough for some corals.

Thanks

It all depends on what coral you want to end up keeping. watch the most recent BRS video on lighting they will answer just about every question you'll ever have about lighting back by evidence. Your gonna get a lot of different answers on here from others experiences which honestly for you is most likely gonna be too much to take in haha just watch the video it's your best option at this point. Then if you still have questions obviously feel free to pot them here and we will be more then happy to answer then. BRS has an entire series about everything in the SW industry. So if you have a question I guarantee you they have answered it in one of their videos.

For a FOWLR or maybe some softies up high in the tank, this light might work. I just don't like 1 watt LEDs.....very poor penetration in water. The minimum wattage I'd get is with 3 watt LEDs.

HERE is and example....actually with 90 degree optics, would have to be turned down a bit.
