New to this

Hello everyone, I’m looking into getting a reef setup. Today I picked up a 55 gallon wide tank, and an additional 10 gallon tank. Ideally I’d like to set up some sort of auto top off system with the 10 gallon, but honestly I have no idea.

I know this is going to be a long process, as I don’t have the money to get everything I want right away, but i have a few hundred bucks right now, and was wondering what the next step would be. Some of the YouTube videos I saw he R/O filters for water. I’m assuming I’m going to need to pick that up first, followed by some live rock and sand.

Any direction in regards to lights, filtration, and heating would be very helpful.

Heater, Skimmer (if corals), invest in Good lighting and water flow pumps, return pump, Good quality salt (instant ocean a good starter salt) and Reliable Test Kits.
