I see a lot of them on frag plugs, is that the only way to keep them is on plugs and then place them on racks or will they attach to live rock?

You can attach to live rock. Depending on how many on the plug you can cut the stem off the plug and glue that and it will disappear in a fee months or you can take a razor and cut them off and glue to a rock . They probably do better on the rock they seem to like a stable home

They are sold in fragplugs so most people keep them there. You can cut the bottom of the plug with pliers and glue to a rock if you prefer. Try not to disturb them or remove from plug as you might hurt them.
