Got it from lfs, got a couple other torches all doing good, it’s a 3 headed torch and one head is receding and had like a brown flesh at one side of it, but the other side it still has flesh that is shrunk up.

Would it be smart to dip it in iodine? Or coral dip? Or just leave it and let it play out. Have had it for 2 days and parameters are fine phosphate was a 0.5 and I dropped it back down to under 0.1.

I've only ever used iodine based products so I'm not familiar with coralrx, I assume they have similar impacts. Also, don't worry too much if that head doesnt make it. The others look great.

The heads arent fully split is my fear. Dont want one to kill off 3 and I'm out 150.

Have you ever dipped with povidone iodine from a CVS? Would you know the drops-to-water ratio to not stress out an already stressed coral, with it also being effective?

I use Seachem reef dip, so I don't want to offer advice on using pure iodine for fear of being wrong - I'm sure some search here or on youtube will do you right for dosage

40 drops of Lugol’s iodine per gallon. But I don’t make that much, I add until it is a light colored ice tea color. Let it sit in it for 10 minutes and rinse and place back in the tank. You mentioned brown on the head that is receding. Watch for brown jelly disease, it can spread to the other head and to your other torches. If you suspect it frag the head and toss it.

Did a 10 minute iodine dip no rinse right back into the tank low light and low flow and saved 1/3 heads, this is it now.
