Hello,
I am new to the hobby. Been at it for two months and I'd say I have a pretty rewarding 8 gal innovative marine setup. I had the stock skkye light for the whole time up until 3 days ago when I bought an AI Prime HD. Needing tips on the light. Below or pics of my tank and corals.

Thanks.

100% grew up with fresh water tanks all my life. This is my first salt. I'm just very OCD about how my tank looks. I've seen some rough 8 gal setups out there.

Thank you. I'm trying to find people who are running the same light as me. I don't want to lose my coral. I've had my light on them for 3 days. So I've not lost them yet. I have it on acclimation mode for two weeks.

Definitely take advantage of the acclimation mode for now. You probably won't need to run it on a particularly high power setting either for just 8 gallons. Super clean setup. What sort of specific advice on the prime were you looking for?

I have the same light. It is a pretty strong light for a small tank, but you can tune it to the intensity you need. I would keep the intensity down since you are not growing out SPS, and those LPS may not like it being so bright. There is an AI Prime FB group that has lighting files that you can download. The LED forum on here is helpful as well. I am running it on a 24g cube.

I would acclimate over some time as well. The OEM light that comes with the tanks is pretty weak.I have the 4G IM Nuvo. and added a Kessil A80 as well, on my desk at work. That's the tank pic on my profile. They are cute tanks.

Just on how high I can take it. When I put it on 30% it wasn't brighter than the stock light I had. So I bumped it to 50% and it was comparable. So I'm acclimating to 50. I'd say the prime is about 8-10" above tank.

What is the name of fb group. I'll need to look it up. I'm acclimating for two weeks to get to 50%

Your tank is incredible. I've been in the hobby since March and this is all my 46 is lol.

I think my tank looks terrible but it's probably because I compare it to 3 year old systems. I'm 15 so lack of money also makes it hard to get it looking good but in 2 weeks I'm going to have a bunch of new additions in there. My plan is to have $400 or so by then since my LFS is having a big sale and then just go crazy haha
