Bought an established tank on Sunday, moved it 2 hours to its new home, with everting, including the water. everything transitioned pretty well for the most part, no deaths and there are 8 fish and a shrimp. When looking into the tank today my boyfriend and I nothing a pink growth on the back of the tank. Wondering what this could be. Possibly wall coral? This is the best photo I could get!

Blurry, but it looks like a closed up anemone to me. Also unlikely any coral would have popped up randomly on your tank walls, especially so fast. Anemone move if they aren’t happy (looking for a better home). My bet is that’s what you have. It is probably looking for better flow and light. Do you know if there were anemone in the tank?

Yes there was a bunch. Bubble tip

That’s what you’ve got then! I thought it might be a BTA from the white around the mouth. I’d leave it alone and see if it opens. They close up to move but once it is comfortable again it should come out.

When you moved the tank did you move the anemone the same way you did your fish? I left mine attached to their rocks, though this took some careful positioning to ensure they weren’t harmed in transport.

Anemone need oxygen and stable parameters the same way fish do, especially when they are being moved. Two hours isn’t that long of a trip in a bucket, but that also depends on how long it took you to get the tank up and running again and how the livestock were kept during that time.

Also, good idea to get a gauge of your water parameters now. When I moved my tank I also moved everything in it, very, very carefully, and I still had a lot of die off from the bacteria in the tank, which led to some pretty wild swings in numbers.
