new UV - Skimmer going nuts

Title.

It not making a lot of the typical skimmate i usually get since i run it farily dry but each morning when i come down the cup is full of dark water like its pulling very wet skmmate. Been going on since Monday morning.

Is this normal? Everything else seems fine. I recently started dosing phyto for my pod population but until the UV everything was fine.

Any thoughts?

I’d guess the uv is killing off algae and other things and the skimmer is pulling them out faster.. that’s been my exact case the last week since I added a uv to combat some Dino’s.. I keep adjusting it down to get a dry skim mate and I’m getting a cup full of brown stank everyday lol.. used to take 3 days..

Well the uv is probably killing things that are now ending up in your skimmer

phyto will also make things bloom and that creates more waste for the skimmer as well.

if this is the case its a "good thing" as your skimmers working
