Our 1500 Gallon Lagoon Tank is located at our Orlando Retail Superstore. We have been getting a lot of questions on how we keep the sand bed clean. So we decided to make a quick video showing how. Visit https://worldwidecorals.com

So your basically just stirring it up? No actual "vacuuming" it?

What would Mother Nature do? I'm teasing honestly but more or less what she does when she gets around to it. Waves, current, and size 6 foot stomping on the floor boards (storms).

Scuba divers see similar patterns at various depths to include the algae. Personally speaking I think it is a good thing to look at in the morning before shop opens to see how the flow is working in the tank. Really good indicators.

WWC - thanks for posting. I was going to ask what you use for the glass? I was thinking water/vinegar mix.

No I understand why they do it, just surprised thats all they do.

All I do is suck off the top layer when it gets nasty. After a few months, and about a 20# bag of sand, I wash it out and put it back in.
