The structure looks nice. How did you put something together like that?

Yes no skimmer for me I will have a very small bio load as I'm starting with very small fish. I will be doing 30% water changes every other week. I am lucky that I can see a reef store that sells premixed SW for 1 a gallon from my window. If it wasn't so easy for me to do my water changes I'd probably would have run a skimmer.

Its purchased that way it is called a Bosnia rock from Vidarock (ceramco) its a little pricey for a small piece but I like the look for a cube!

Oh nice that’s a good idea plus you can make the water level higher with hdp by blocking the return raising the water line I like it!

So I will post a picture later but as part of my cycle process I added phytoplankton which they sell down the street. Well in a developed tank it might be a good idea or a tank with real live rock but in a sterile environment like my new tank new sand new fake rock there isn’t anything to eat the phytoplankton. So once the ammonia broke and nitrates kicked in with 78 degree water and a Hydra 26 running Gasby settings the phytoplankton exploded in a bloom of green,there was nothing on the glass, rock or substrate and if you got really close you could see the green was suspended in the water column.So by the time I figured it out the tank was green completely green and you couldn’t see the back of the tank. So I killed the lights and did a 5 gallon water change. My plan is to kill the lights and use only ambient light of the room. Without photosynthesis the phytoplankton will die and the water will clear. I’m gonna go to the shop when they open and get a bunch of cheto or live rock ruble to get some pods going which will consume and remaining phytoplankton. Stay tuned

Hey thanks for asking I just got it today, my guy at the store waited until March 1st because he knew there was a price drop coming! So instead of $300 the NERO 5 is $250 . Made an unboxing video and Ill be setting it up tonight

Do you still run the filtersock? i ditched mine and made a net over the sockholder and place filter floss there instead. much better than socks imo.

Yea I already ditched the filter sock I actually cut slits in it and cut the bottom off then just stuff filter media in there
