No, laying on the sand bed like that is not normal it’s a sign of stress. Is it breathing heavy?
It’s been moving from one spot to another, it has no been seen swimming for a long period of time, dosnt look like he’s heavily breathing though.

I asked the LFS I just purchased it from and they said its normal for it to lay on sand and even dart into the sand because it was just added to tank. They told me to turn the lights off and it will be fine. Hoping it will be ok

Its possible, new tank stress, how did you acclimate it?

I would keep an eye on it just to make sure. Don't be surprised if it disappears under the sand for a while. :)

I have a SixLine and he always hides in the Sand, Especially when he was New and Unsure of his Place and At Night - I do have only fine sand and like a 3 to 4 in Sand Bed
