Please tell me my new yellow corris wrasse is hiding. Haven't seen him since shortly after putting him in my DT.

This is a new breed of fish for me.

The wrasses are always hides under the sand in the event of danger and to sleep

Hiding in the sand is completely normal for this fish. Usually they pop up in a day or two, but in some cases can be buried for as long as a month. Don't worry about it. And whatever you do, don't go digging around for it.

I had a similar post about my twinspot coris wrasse n recieved the same response. I just put it in yesterday n i havent seen it since. I hope it eventually decides to come out n eat. Keep me updated when he finally comes out!

This happened to me a couple months ago when I added a new wrasse. After two weeks I thought he was dead and he finally came out a month and a half later during "normal hours". He was coming out before the lights came on and picking at the rocks and diving back in the sand when the lights came on, only staying out for maybe 1-2 hours at a time. So if you haven't already you might want to check when the lights are off as well.

Wow a month and a half tho [emoji85]. Do you think it was eating when u fed the tank? If not how did it stay alive so long omg. I guess after a week or so ill start checking right before the lights come on. Thnks for your info

Yes a month and a half! It was crazy but I think he was just picking off the rocks at the pods or whatever else is in there which includes some of the because he wasn't THAT skinny when he finally emerged. I think he was just being bullied by some of the other wrasse I have and the devil of an angel that's in there during the day time.

Have you seen your wrasse since? Mine finally came out after 3 days n stays out suprisingly and now I'm going to get a yellow wrasse
