I'm looking into adding on more wrasse to my IM 40. I currently have on Ruby Longfin, Naoko... Plus there is an Flameback Angel and mandrin goby (captive breed female) in tank over year and a half.

What I have been debating is adding either a female Blue star leopard, Mystery wrasse... Maybe a yellow and purple?

Plus I want to add another Mandrin, captive breed male and if can yellow assessor.

Thanks for all the feed back....

A leopard wrasse will complete with your mandarins more than the other wrasses.

In a tank that size, I'm not sure another wrasse would work well long term. They're carnivores and eat the same critters the mandarin does, leading to direct competition. They can be moved to frozen and dry foods more easily than mandarins can, but still, nothing beats live food when it's an option. Worst case scenario, you could lose the mandarin to starvation if she's not taking anything but live food. Best case, you have a wrasse and mandarin both taking prepared foods.
