Hey, I’m new to the saltwater keeping and I recently purchased a yellow watman goby but I don’t know he’s supposed to behave in his new home.. need help..

I have one in my tank. Is it behaving strangely?

It’s just swimming back to back. Isn’t it suppose to burrow?

They usually set up a place where they’ll hide. Mine didn’t dig a burrow but generally stays in that area. It swims around looking for food now and then.

Yours is constantly swimming around?

He was at first now he’s just laying there. Do you think it’s need a pistol shrimp?

It is a perching fish, not a swimming fish. So it will spend nearly all of its time sitting on the substrate. That’s normal. You can add a pistol shrimp but it won’t make the fish swim around more.

I’ve had the lights off for about 2 hours so it won’t steer him when should I turn them on again?

I don’t understand the question...

How long until I turn on my lights? After adding my YWG

Oh. You just added this fish? They take a few days to settle in. I’d leave the lights off for the rest of the day and follow your normal schedule tomorrow.

make sure all your parameters are good and put a lid on the tank. they are jumpers. get it a tiger pistol shrimp and watch them fall in love. i bought mine a year ago and they were not paired when i bought them. took about 10 minutes and it was love at first sight.

Awesome!!! Thanks for the help guys
