As the title says i have been dealing with a new zoa disease. It started about 1 month ago and seems to affect zoanthus gigantus most frequently. Basically it starts out as a white spot under the tissue, kinda looking like zoa pox, but after a couple days it starts developing this scab if you will. Its this tan cartilage thats on the outside of the tissue. It doesn't blow off in current and has to be scrapped off. I have dipped in revive, coral rx, furan-2, and lugols. So far none of them have been effective. The most promising is the furan-2 but it only works on a couple colonies here and there. I am doing a hydrogen peroxide dip tonight to see if that helps. I know its hard to help without pictures, i just need to find my micro usb, then i will be able to get some up for you guys. So far its taken out 20 colonies of assorted zoas and palys.

Any help would be much appreciated.

HI

Zoa Pox is not a bacterial or bacterial disease , this showed several genetic checks of Zoa Pox. it is a stress reaction due to to much light, changed water parameters and to hot temperture
Take the Zoa out of to much light, add a good waterflow , feed them a little bit and reduce the temperature to 22° Celcius

Is it on all polyps of a colony or just a few at a time? If it is just a few perhaps try removing the inected ones and putting the others in qt for observation. I have a new 5gal tank if you need it.

just a few at a time. and there doesn't seem to be a pattern for spreading.

So far, the peroxide dip has worked the best. But its still on some of them that were dipped.

HI
open the pox with a needle and press the yellowwhite luiquid out
add them then in good water movement and cooler temperature.
how faster you will do that so better it works
