Well, got my shipment from reefers direct and vivid aquariums and it seems as though the vivid aquariums zoanthids won't open. Should I be worried or is it normal from overnight shipping? I dipped these all in revive before placing them in the tank for 5 min. The reefers direct zoas opened perfectly. Any help would be great.

I've had some that take a couple days to open for some reason and some open right up when in water. I just keep an eye on them. Lol I'm not a pro tho

I agree that a few days may be a good idea. My primary concern was also that my lighting tune with the hydra 26 hd may have been to strong. Light sits 12 inches above the water line and was running at 96% blues and just under on violets. Should that be toned down for acclimation?

I would say when in doubt turn down for acclimation or at least find a way to have a section of the tank with some diffused light so the corals can get used to it. Best way to do this is probably just putting some egg crate in a corner and putting the zoas under it or even just putting a piece of paper to block some light. I always have some zoas that open up right away and then there are some like my salted agave that have now been closed for about a month.

I turned down the lighting intensity by 40 percents for now to let everything acclimate. The hydra hds are pretty intense and I don't think it will hurt to tone it down a little for now. Hopefully I see a change in a few days.

So some change to the better... very slight change in opening up more. I moved them to a lower flow area which may have helped. Lemon snickers look good however!
