I just got this zoa frag to see how it does in my tank as it's just been cycled. Ammonia is a little high at 0.5 but that's from me accidentally over feeding mysis for the first time to my clowns. I added a video because a photo can't get a good view. Does anyone do why it's got seemly a small brown tentacle coming out of its mouth. I noticed some of the symbiotic algae expelled from it and i saw some said it could be a light adjustment but it's been here for 24 hours now and this morning it developed this. I noticed mysis fell on it as i was feeding my clowns and it shot more of the neon algae (making me terrified and sad) I didn't want to upset the guy anymore. I'm wondering if i should perform another water change tomorrow to prevent stress and maybe that will help with ammonia and overtime it will acclimate and feel better. However I am conserned it's coming from the mouth. It could be that the white pieces are a strand of dust stuck to the mouth but would it be best to pull it off or not? From my research touching the corals doesn't seem to make them any happier. Is this just a possible acclimation process or could it have something wrong? I would appreciate any information thank you!

Could be expelling waste or zooxanthellae... I didn’t see a tentacle in the middle... possibly not happy with the ammonia being present...

Why do you have an ammonia problem?
What is your lighting schedule?
Zoas and many other corals can take days or weeks to adjust to your lights and your water parameters.

what are your other water parameters at?
