I have been calling them Electric Marvels.
The grow out Nightmares and Rainbows are looking sweet. Much nicer having full frags then the original planned 3 polyps each, huh? Those Nightmares will grow fast you will see and the Rainbows do pretty well too. When Vivid sent them to me last July it took about 2 months before they started to spread but that was 3 polyps. They went to over 100 by Dec.
I think that the advantage to tank raised zoas is that they can adjust faster to new systems and do grow so much better. Some day maybe all the zoanthids that are available will be aquaculture. Much hardier and faster growing.

Dang I love all of them, but those Rainbows are killing me!

Thanks Mike and absolutely having full frags is WAYYY better than 3 polyps, the nightmares have already started believe it or not... LOL. yep 2 weeks in my tank I have 3 new buds, the rainbows have 1 these were not present when I got the frags. The Bam Bams are stunning... its hard to believe that they are the color you show in your pic but they absolutely are.

In all honesty I think the rainbows are my favorite zoa in my tank. And the nightmares are more expensive... they are soo saturated in color they look plastic.. I like them better than the nightmares... but, im not parting with them either. LOL.

That's awesome. Hopefully Nightmares will not be so much a rare in the near future. There have been many reports of them being tiny and hard to keep but with tank raised that should be a thing of the past before too long.
Oh, and I never try to over color my pics. I would not want to buy some zoas from a fellow reefer and find them not like the pics they sold them to me as.
Golden rule-Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. Very easy to follow, just pretend you are the one getting the deal...fortunately just about everyone on this site seems to follow that rule, too bad there are so many pple in the world that believe...get what you can no matter who it hurts... but then I guess the world would be perfect if everyone treated each other like they wanted to be treated and so many pple would be out of work...lawyers, police, judges, jail guards, soldiers, just to name a few. But there again, wouldn't matter as pple out of work would still have plenty with the pple that are working sharing it with them. Headache coming on now. too much thought all at once, need to gaze into my tank for a little bit now...

LOL so true Mike soo true... I never for once suspected that your pics were altered in the least. It is however a rare find to see such stunning colors from a single source where in a lot of locations you get a watered down version of the "Catalog Pic" if you will. Refreshing to say the least and it has taken me all of 2 years to know where to look for the "good stuff". You are def on that list.

Thanks guys... I wish I did have him local...I would buy more stuff from him. But this will do for a little while...lol

I can't wait for my pack in a few weeks! :D

I wish I had more to frag but between you, pakora and rev's pack that I am in the process of fragging that about does me in for at least a month or so. I tend to get a little stingy with the zoanthids, but hopefully will get some good growth going again.

I hear ya... right now I just sold off a lot of my armor of gods and the rest of my stock is just bordering colony size where I feel in a short time what ever grows out more than my mother colonies I can frag and sell.

Wow..you take a very good picture. What camera and lenses are you using ?

Thank you... my camera is a Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D the lens is the std 18-55mm lens that comes with the camera. Its a digital SLR, an older one 6.1mp I use a tripod and timer when I take close ups. I like it a lot although I wish it had more of an amateurs set up feature for taking close up shots. Most of the new DSLR's have a macro feature button that sets the aperature, shutter and white balance for awesome macro shots without a ton of user input. I unfortunately have to learn how to adjust all these manually, it has its pros and cons. I like to learn so it is fun to mess with the settings and my options are limitless with settings however, when I just want to take a few pics in a hurry it can get tedious and sometimes be a PITA. I am still trying to get things dialed in. While I am happy with some of my pics I know I can get them much better.
