Just picked up a frag of Nirvana zoas. The plug has 5 polyps and a little bit of GHA on it. My question is this: Should I dip in peroxide/water mix in addition to my coral dip I normally do? I am transporting the frag so it has been 7 hours now in a cooler. The peroxide dip has me scared that the zoas will not make it. Will be dipping and putting in my tank in about one hour!

Never had a problem dipping with peroxide. Just made 18 frags from 5 different zoas last night. Ran them through bayer/peroxide/iodine. All open besides 2 frags today. I did 2 part tank water 1 part peroxide for 3mins. Can do less peroxide if your scared. They will bubble up for a good part of the day then be good.

Without seeing the actual frag, I would try to remove the glued portion of zoas off the gha covered plug & reglueing the polyps onto another plug or small piece of live rock, if possible. If the polyps can be cleanly removed, the use of chemical can be avoided, along with any other unwanted & unseen critters that might be attached to that plug. Hope it helps & safety first.

I second the peroxide dip. I have had no ill effects dipping zoa's/pallys in peroxide.

I heard sps is a no go for peroxide dips. I have not tried it. Scares me lol

I know this is a little late. But, I saw a video Ryan fro BRS posted dipping acans in peroxide with algae on them. Two minutes in straight peroxide. Gave it a try yesterday. Acans seem to be good.

I tried this on a nice colony of zoas and they’re spotless!
