Hi. I have recently started a 55 gallon saltwater aquarium and love it. The cycling phase is over and can't wait to aquire a bunch of new SPS.

Welcome. What kind of circulation are you getting in your tank? If you're interested in SPS you would most likely want to have 30x to 50x your tank volume.

I currently have 2 power heads running. One on each side of the tank. Looking to upgrade to duals. Just trying to decide between power head or wave maker. Any opinions?

I like the VorTech MP pumps. Two MP10s for your tank would probably be best.

Awesome thanks for the input. Saving up for new LED lights too.

I heard great things about Reef Radiance lights; they're sponsors on this site. I'm going to give them a try when it's time for new lights.

Awesome I will research them. I have had Kessil A360 lights in mind.

I've owned a rr dm132e for about a year now. Great product. I just upgraded to a lumentek pro. Definitely worth a look.

Yet another BIG WELCOME to the R2R family here, looks like you are off to a good start. +1 on the Reef Radiance LED's and also check out the Jebao RW series wave makers, two RW-8's run on lower speeds to start with would be awesome plus cost effective over the Vortech MP's. Are you planning to or in the process of adding more LR ???

Cheers, Todd

Thanks for the other suggestion on the wave makers. I do plan on adding more lr just doing everything slowly. One bite at a time to save my wallet a little bit of pain lol.
