So i am currently in the process of looking to buy a tank. As of right now i am not sure if i should buy a new tank or start with used one. I am looking to get a tank between 75 gallon and 125 gallon. The situation i am in right now is i found some used tanks but i am unsure of the equipment quality and if im getting ripped off or not. The tank i am looking at is a 75 gallon,Brand new Jager 125-watt heaters 2 of them and brand new reef octopuses protein skimmer. The tank is drilled for a bean animal overflow and I have the customer made overflow box and all the bulkheads along with the return lockline. thats everything it comes with. they are asking 800 for it. If you guys could help me out that would be great

I would say that may be a bad deal. Right now you can get a brand new 75 gal tank for $75 at Petco, 2 Jager heaters are about $70, and then however much for the skimmer (don't know which model they have).

What do you want to spend? I got my Marineland RR 125 gallon a couple years ago for $400 new. Of course I built my own stand and canopy for it.

the tank i am really not worried about i am worried about the equipment i don't wanna spend 800 and have to spend alot more on better equipment when i can just buy the equipment new in the first place and go cheaper on the tank

Sounds high to me. I bought my standard 90g tank with stand and 4-bulb T5 for under $300.

So I will say this, that seems high to me but a tank is worth whatever you are willing to spend on it. If you are happy with the setup and don't want to have to get everything it comes with separately then it may be a good deal for you.

We would really need to know the brand of the tank and the model of the protein skimmer to give you a definitive answer. If it is a fairly new custom rimless or eurobraced tank and a high end skimmer, it might be worth the money.

What do you guys think of this its an 85 gal Planet Crystaline and comes with Includes tank, modern stand, systems crystal 36 elite sump, hard pvc plumbing setup for 3 individual reactors and controllable refugium section, eheim 1262 return pump for 1200$

So rather than trying to determine if one deal is good or not, let's start with what do you want in a system. What size tank are you looking for? What's your price range? What are you looking to keep? Those types of questions.

I bought a Planet 85 gallon rimless with the crystalline glass last year and have never regretted it one minute. These are well made and the glass is really nice. You will not regret buying that tank. JMO

honestly i am looking for 75 to 125 gallon tank i am looking to keep and reef tank with some fish
