Evening guys! New to this site but I’ve had a break from the hobby, just set up a Red Sea 425 with 40kg dry rock, 20kg live sand 1 bottle of atms finest, and 2 clowns, running carbon in my filter socks, and j just soaked 1kg of bio spears in outbreak over night, my water is slightly cloudy, am I right in thinking this is just another bacteria bloom!

Firstly, welcome to R2R! How long has the tank been set up?
Can I just say your user name is epic!! It’s been running 6 days now, added more circulation or angled the return so it’s breaking the Surface seems to have cleared up abit

Thanks :) With the tank that young I would doubt you have a bacterial bloom going on. My guess is it’s just cloudy from the sand, which unless you rinsed it very very thoroughly, almost always clouds up the water when first installed. Most people wouldn’t recommend starting a tank with fish in it before cycling, but since you started with dry rock and used bottled bacteria, i doubt there will be much to decay and cause ammonia. I would think 2 clownfish in a water volume that big will probably be fine. I would however highly recommend going to a pet store and getting an ammonia alert badge to use for a couple weeks and make sure your ammonia doesn’t start to rise.
