What's up. Like subject says I'm a newbie with this, but lookin to learn and have fun with it. Have been with freshwater for awhile, but when I got a free 55, I thought it would be a good time to try salt out. Currently starting a 55 gal w/ 20gal sump. Have it hard piped and running with cured live rock coming tomorrow and some chaeto shipping in Wednesday. Taking it slow and not in a rush to get fish, figured I would give it a couple months before any of that. Here is a rough shot after getting it all together. Try to get another once rock is in.

Will post wit day lights once rock is in. Hopefully tonite. Any tips on good layouts for live rock? Stack high or scatter? Have 40 lbs coming at first so a lil under the lb per gal setting...figured add some different type down the line. Hopefully doesn't cloud tank a lot like sand did.

well for 40 lbs I was expecting more than 5 heavy pieces. Guess time to save for more...at least its a start. Will post a pic once cloudiness settles.

So there it is. Filter sock will be removed shortly, helped with the cloudiness after rock placement.
