hey. New here. New to saltwater reef tanks. I'm 37 and live in Baltimore.
I'm two months into my fluval evo 13.5 nano tank. Started with live sand and rock. Used biospira and a raw shrimp to cycle. I now have 2 frostbite clownfish, one fire shrimp, nasarius snails, and 2 turbo snails. Just got my first candy cane coral over the weekend.
Modified the filtration with an innovative marine first chamber media basket, got my AI prime light tonight. And just finished my custom plexiglass lid.
Just saying hello. I've been quietly following and learning from you all.

Where did you get the material to make that lid? Did you have it made or did you do it yourself? What are the dimensions?

I bought the acrylic myself. Took good measurements. And used my dremel max with a tile blade for any straight cuts. Diamond hole bit to drill any holes. (Center cut out started with 4 corner holes drilled out, then I could get in there with thecsaw max) dremel with a grinding wheel attachment. And a lot of sanding.

Welcome! I like that dark sand!
Thanks. I have carefully and slowly planned everything out with this tank. I knew what tank I wanted, sand and rock, even what livestock I was going to get. I like how the black sand is a sharp contrast to everything else in the tank. It makes the sand bed stark while everything else really pops. Its nice when a plan comes together.

Welcome to R2R and to the hobby.
