Looking for a little advice. Not sure what my problems are. The tank is a 70g drop-off from IM. It was setup in January by the previous owner and I purchased and moved everything June 4th. All the livestock (anemone, zoas, mini-maxi, trumpet and blasto corals) that I bought with the tank are doing great. Any new frags I put in seem to die off within a month. Not sure if this is the nature of the beast due to the size of the frags vs the size of the larger established corals. Focusing on a mixed tank with softies and LPS corals. I am running the apex system with trident, afs, dos, and 2 wav's. Lighting is 2 kessil a360x's (max color is 20% and intensity is 40%) tested with the apogee rented from BRS and Par is set in between 60-120 where the corals are sitting. I also recently bought a Seneye to confirm any adjustments I make are within range. Here are my parameters:
Temp: 77.5
Salinity: 1.025
PH: 8.1 - 8.3
ORP: 415 average
Phosphates: .07
Alkalinity: 9.7 (hannah) and 9.56(apex) - set at 9.5 +/- .2
Calcium: 496(hannah) and 484(apex) - working on bringing down to 450 range set at 460 +/- 40
Nitrate: 10 (red sea)
Magnesium 1370 (red sea) and 1384 (apex)
Iodine: .06
Iron: .05 (low)
Potassium: 350 (low)
I just purchased a few pieces from the Jason Fox Live Sale and any advice would be appreciated. About 1/2 of the frags I bought from the WWC Live Sale didn't make it.
Maybe I just need patience?
