Hello,

I've only recently gotten into the fishkeeping hobby, and would love any advice/tips I can get from more seasoned Aquarists.

I have two tanks, a 12 Gallon Fluval Edge planted tank with newly placed plants and Pygmy Cories. I plan on adding Cherry Shrimps, Nerite Snails, Black Neon Tetras, X-ray Pristella Tetras.

I use the included lights and filter, the tank was cycled with Dr. Tim's live nitrifying bacteria.

The second, is a Biocube 29 gallon HQI for a saltwater reef tank with newly introduced red tipped, zebra, and blue legged hermit crabs(x2 for each) as well as a turbo snail. There's also a Bumblebee snail among them, I'm aren't entirely sure how it got in there.
Planned animals are: Porcelain crabs, Firefish, Green Chromis, Yellow Prawn Goby with Tiger Pistol Shrimp, Barnacle Blennies, various coral, Tridacna Maxima, Feather Duster Worm, Skunk Cleaner Shrimp and more random clean up crew items. These may be tweaked.

Tank is outfitted with included lighting, protein skimmer, and refugium(stocked with macro algae) around 40 pounds of live sand, 15 pounds of dry rock, and 10 pounds of live rock are currently in the tank. The tank was also cycled with Dr. Tim's live nitrifying bacteria.

Both tanks are fully cycled, I've done quite a bit of research, so I would like less basic stuff, such as personal experience.

Thank you.

If they are cycled, get some life in there!! Little at a time to let the bio load catch up to each at first.

Welcome to R2R!

Well, the tanks are doing fine so far, the animals are happily cleaning everything. I've noticed a disturbing amount of snail waste throughout the sand, I would vacuum it out, but I would like to not take chunk of the sand with it.

Any suggestions?

Also, you want a bit more flow in the tank if waste is just collecting about the tank.
