Started a tank last week with somw dry rock from the lfs I brought everything they had. Chucked it all in and after looking at all the pics in this thread I'm thinking it's not great, should I start again try and stack some more height in there. Should I add more rock? It will be a reef and fish tank so need room for corals etc, I think I've layed too much on the back wall?
Thoughts?

Welcome and your scape should like what you feel looks good. I would look at some pics on the site and see if there is anything that you like, and model your scape based on that. Happy reefing.

Yeah will do wish I was better at this part hahaha so hard!

you can stack them to create passage ways for fish to swim. This will also give you some height. I moved my pieces away from the back wall, so that fish have room behind the scape to swim too. You can grab some smaller pieces to create islands for corals, too. Anything is fair game. Just be creative.

Yeah i like the passage idea might give it a shuffle this weekend!

One other thing to keep in mind is your coral placement. Big holes and fingers will give you a place to stick coral plugs into. Flat rock is good to glue coral that you want to stand up. And so on. A lot of SPS coral can be place up high. Lots of considerations when you start thinking about your corals that you may want to buy.

This is the hardest part for me I have no experience at all with corals so have no idea what to do here! Coming from a cichlid tank where no plant life could live to needing to plan so much ahead! I spose ill just wing it and I'll find out what I need when I need it!

Gave it another crack tonight and am happier then it was! Might need to buy some more rock eventually, but happy for now!
