I'm looking for a few easy corals to start. I'm wanting a green manderian, as a fish that I want in my tank. I love the way the wrasse colors look.

Any suggestions would be appreciated..

I am also fighting a loud overflow. any ideas

When i first set up my system, I was shocked at how loud it all was. The overflow had both splashing, and, the gurgle of the stand pipe.

The splashing was lessened by a large piece of very porous foam. You can get 10 pore per inch (PPI) foam in fish stores or on-line. The gurgling was lessened by "throttling" the air intake. Mine is a Durso type stand pipe. What kind is yours?

It's only 3/4 on the black filter and then bumps up to 1 inch at the 90 and all the way to the filter sock.

Is there a hole at the top of the 90, that draws in air?

I have a Favia and a Kenya tree I could sell to you! They are both very easy corals to keep! The Kenya tree expand to 6-7 inches tall and at night looks like a lump of broccoli! The Favia in the blue light is a deep purple and a bright green center. I would sell the Favia to you for 80 individually and the Kenya tree for 40. I could do 100 for both.

I also have a Green Bird Wrasse for sale! He's about 5 inches long and a green blue color! He's a beautiful fish that is perfect for a reef tank. I'll sell him to you for 90$

I would strongly recommend not to get that as your first fish! At least wait a few months before adding one of those guys. They get very stressed and are extremely difficult to feed at times. Definitely need some experience before getting your hands on a mandarin

Is a Green Bird Wrasse reef safe? What size tank?

I've heard so many mixed reviews, but mine has never touched a coral and doesn't seem interested. He's in a 55 gal, but I think he needs a bigger tank. He loves to swim!

Any interest in him?

Nope. Besides my tank being too small, they're not reef safe. It'll eat every critter I have in my tank, and possibly the small fish too. It may not eat coral polyps, but it eats everything else that goes along with coral. LOL

Aquarium will give you credit. [emoji4]

Ah, so it goes up an down, like the water level in the overflow?

I know I've seen some threads on that....

Invertebrates yes he will eat, but absolutely not any small fish Lol. I've been very cautious to watch if he's interested in coral, and he doesn't even look at it

Yeah and it does a great job. my chambers stay full.... it just makes a sucking sound for about five minutes than takes a break for five

How far into the water (in the sump) is your primary standpipe? It should not be submerged any more than 1.5". Any more than that and you will find that the overflow will make a lot of noise and the water level keep rising/falling, activating the secondary siphon. I had the same issue when I first set up my Bean Animal drains.

Not having seen your setup first hand, I suspect the sucking noise is the secondary siphon getting activated as it purges air. Can you get a better picture of your standpipes inside the overflow? I assume you have a true BA setup - the primary drain being a 'U' that remains submerged the secondary another 'U' that remains submerged but has an air hole at the top of the elbow and the third and open emergency drain?

It is hard to tell by just the picture. I only see 2 pipes and a heater. Are they both drains and you have a return going back to the tank elsewhere?

all I have is a single overflow not two not three. @BlueDevil is your tank an single overflow box or double????
If you only have a single drain than you really need to set it up as a Durso standpipe. You won't be able to get the flow balance you need trying to set up a form of full siphon drain, not to mention you would risk overflowing your tank.
