Hey Reefers

this is probably going to sound a rather silly question. My Red Sea max nano has been running for just about a month now. It has successfully completed the cycle. First was the diatoms, then an algae bloom. Now I’m gone on to a slight cyno outbreak. My question is regarding my rock. I cycled the tank with dry sand and dry rock.Earlier this evening I decided to re arrange my aqua scape. However when I turned my one large rock upside down . I found it to be completely white. Will it be fine if I leave it this way or should it leave it the way it was? Not sure if you can notice the difference in colour in the rock in the picture

I’m just concerned as to whether I’ll interrupt the progress made with the bacteria collecting on my rock work by turning it upside down with the white side now exposed

I’m not an expert. But I would assume that as long as the entire rock is still in the system you’ll be fine. The rock is porous so the bacteria will still be at work regardless of the orientation of the rock.

White just means algae hasn’t grown on it yet, because it wasn’t exposed to the light. It will match color with the rest if you leave it. Shouldn’t cause an issue.

I move my rocks in my scape and the white shows and it's been fine so far. My fish haven't grown legs and walked out of the tank to take over the world, at least that I know of, yet, so I'm sure it will be totally fine.
