Take your time, do a lot of research and reading, and don't react or constantly chase numbers. Quarentine is a must! Most importantly have fun with it and welcome.

Thank I'm watching YouTube and reading I'm still kinda new to the whole hobby just over one year in December I have 13 africian cichlid tanks the biggest being 130g so I'd thought I would give salt a try

Welcome! I would also suggest watching some of the Bulk Reef Supply videos on YouTube, especially the 52 weeks of reefing ones.

Welcome to the site. There is a ton of stuff to help start and maintain a tank. Take your time and research is always a good combination

Cichlids are a gateway drug lol. I started the same way but I fell in love with saltwater and will never go back to freshwater. My wife still has her red Texas cichlid but that's all the freshwater we have. My son has the evo and he loves it.

Advice:

1) Nothing good happens fast in this hobby, so be patient
2) Even though you may have prior freshwater experience you still should consider yourself a novice until you spend some time researching saltwater. There are several key differences between the two. The good news is that it already sounds like you are doing things the right way by researching.
3) An RODI water source is generally recommended instead of treated tapwater since there are many variables in tapwater that can be harmful to marine life (or give you all kinds of nasty algae trouble)
4) Remember that water evaporates but salt doesn't and this will be a crucial factor on a smaller tank like that, since you will have to top off your water almost daily with fresh RODI water to keep the salinity levels from rising to dangerous levels.
