I might consider waiting for a few months until your tank is stable before introducing butterflyfish. But since this is what you ultimately want, thinking about peaceful tank mates that you can add now as you establish your tank would be great so that when you do add particular butterflyfish they’ll do well. There are also certain butterflyfish that are hardier than others like the pyramid butterfly which you may be able to add early.

Yeah, I’ve read that it’s a good idea to wait til the tank is stable since butterflies are very particular about their water parameters. I’m guessing that’s a 6 month wait or maybe even longer depending on how the tank goes… I’m posting my fish list soon so I can get some opinions. Love the colors on the Pyramids! Might have to consider that.

Crushing the taking it slow thing cause my tank doesn’t even have saltwater in it yet. It’s been more than a month I think and I’m still playing with my rockscape lol very uninspiring

LOL, I'm taking it so slow that I'm about 8 months from my own launch! It's great to have you here. You'll get a lot of great advice from the people here, I know I have.
