I might consider waiting for a few months until your tank is stable before introducing butterflyfish. But since this is what you ultimately want, thinking about peaceful tank mates that you can add now as you establish your tank would be great so that when you do add particular butterflyfish they’ll do well. There are also certain butterflyfish that are hardier than others like the pyramid butterfly which you may be able to add early.Thank youalright well since I'm just starting out, I plan on running a fowlr for now. I'm interested in corals, sure, but they're kind of illegal here in my country.
Anyway, do you think it's a good idea for a beginner to have a butterflyfish focused fowlr tank? I've read a few articles here saying that they're best left to the intermediate and expert reefers.
Yeah, I’ve read that it’s a good idea to wait til the tank is stable since butterflies are very particular about their water parameters. I’m guessing that’s a 6 month wait or maybe even longer depending on how the tank goes… I’m posting my fish list soon so I can get some opinions. Love the colors on the Pyramids! Might have to consider that.I might consider waiting for a few months until your tank is stable before introducing butterflyfish.
