Newbie.have a few questions

Slow and steady wins the race, start with fish and then go from there when everything is stable.
What's your thoughts of dry rock or live rock..I am talking my time. Thanks..and for 80 gallon tank how many and what size wavemaker would you suggest...thanks

I don't have experience with wavemakers. I know for my system I am building I was planning on dry rock. You should check out bulk reef supply on YouTube. They have a 52wk series on setting up a new tank. Very helpful and full of great information.

I like my gyre's for water movement and also my mp40. Both move a lot of water. The gyre you have to have a ice cap unit and a controller to get you wave making ability. The mp40 you need a reeflink module and you can control you unit with an app via computer, phone, or pad.

Start with fish and in a few months add some hardy soft corals like Xenia, GSP, Leathers and Kenya Tree. You don't need to go so expensive with your wavemaker. A Jebao-RW 8 or two will do the job.
