Hello! Setting up my RedSea reefer 250. The hose from the return pump is very long. Should I cut off a few inches? Or force/bend it Into an S shape and leave it long. Seems like excess curving is a waste of space and harder on the pump? I will try to attach a photo here. Thank you for any advice!

Yes I would cut to fit. You don’t want bends in the tubing as this might cause a kink in the hose and reduce flow!

I would figure out how you want to route it — and perhaps secure it to the wall — and then trim it. I’m guessing that they left it long to accommodate whatever return pump you choose (?)

Cut.
Forcing a shape invites leaks
