A 75g is a great tank size. But if you're thinking 75, I'd look into the 90 as well. A standard 75 is 48x18x21. The 90 is 48x18x24. The reason I bring it up is that I LOVED the 90g. Nothing wrong with the 75, but 3 additional inches of height really made a difference for me.
Thank you! He just turned 14. I think he and I are both a little worried about how much time the tank may take up. He’s very into it but also about to start high school. He’s currently looking at “easier” corals to start with, so I hope he can manage.
Thank you! The 75 is a bigger than we had really wanted - definitely concerned about leaks and weight (house is a 50s ranch with joists over basement). My husband is planning to do some reinforcements but still concerned about the massive weight and floor movement etc. I think worrying about a 90 would keep me awake at night
