Hi all - I kept a reef back in the ancient mists of time in the early 1990s. My how things have changed! I'm seriously thinking about getting back into it now that we have cultured live rock and we're starting to see much more environmentally sensitive measures in the hobby than we did back then.
I'm still at the very earliest stages of thinking about this, but I've been perusing tanks. I know "the bigger the better", and I'm thinking of 120 or larger, with all the bells and whistles I can afford. My question is on tank/stand/sump brands. I've seen several I really like the look of, including some AIO setups. But then I read on various forums and it seems like a lot of the manufacturers get a great review here, and a horrible review there. Serious QC problems, serious customer service (or lack of same) problems, etc.
I definitely want to go with low iron glass for clarity and color fidelity. Anyone got any recommendations? I'm not averse to having the stand/cabinet custom built if need be. If I'm spending as much as I am going to have to, I want a piece of fine furniture under the tank, not a cheap piece of **** in my living room.
Thanks!
Butch
