I have questions about keeping saltwater, mainly recycling and inhabitants.

Currently I have a 55 gallon brackish tank that houses two green spotted puffers and a (freshwater) eel, both of which are older and need to be slowly converted back to saltwater (i knew this when I brought them). So here lies my two questions

1) I know that as it goes up my tank will most likely recycle as it is only 1.012 sg and I also "know" eels are sensitive to ammonia. The question is how can I keep my eel and puffers healthy as I probably recycle the tank and add lr?

2) when I finally get the tank covered in a month or so, what can I add to the tank that can survive happily with these priority fish?

Specs:
55 gallon
Alot of dry rock
Year old fresh water to brackish water sand bed
250gph powerhead
Fluval 360 canister filter pointed in the same direction as the powerhead
Standard led lights (i might want algae but not corals or anemone)

Thanks

I did this with two gsp and a catfish. I raised the salinity from fresh to seawater over the course of a month. Probably could've done it quicker but I figured why add the stress. Every one lived through it as well. :D

Alright. Thank you two. I must now ammonia I'll salt is a bigger deal then freshwater or brackish so i was nervous
